About Hint

What Hint is

Hint is a free AI gift finder for iPhone and the web. Tell it anything about the person, such as their interests, a screenshot of their Instagram, or a Spotify playlist, and it suggests five specific gift ideas you can buy on Amazon, in under a minute, with no account.

Hint is built for the moments when you want to give something thoughtful, but you are not sure where to start. It helps turn small clues into specific gift ideas.

The web version is available at hintgifts.app. The iPhone app is coming soon.

How it works

1. Share a hint

Tell Hint about the person you are shopping for. You can type a few details, add an occasion, include a budget, or optionally add the recipient’s name and relationship to you.

You can also include optional screenshots or links. Hint only fetches public pages on allowlisted sites, currently Goodreads, Letterboxd, Pinterest, and YouTube. It does not fetch private or login-only pages.

2. Set the occasion and budget

Hint uses the occasion and budget to shape its ideas. It shows price bands, such as “$25 to $50”, rather than exact prices. Prices and availability are on Amazon.

Please do not include sensitive information, such as passwords, financial details, ID numbers, private messages, health details, or other people’s personal details.

3. Pick a favorite

Hint suggests five specific gift ideas. You can save ideas in your browser or share a list with someone else. Saved lists live only in your browser on your device. Shared lists are encoded in the link itself, so anyone with the link can see the list.

Who Hint is for

Hint is for people 13 and older who want a faster way to find thoughtful gifts. It is especially useful when you know a few things about someone, but do not know what to buy.

Why Hint is free

Hint is free to use. As an Amazon Associate, Hint earns from qualifying purchases.

That means Hint may earn a commission at no extra cost to you if you click an Amazon link and buy something. Amazon’s own terms and privacy policy govern what happens after you click through.
